ART APPRECIATION GROUP

The first Art Workshop was on Thursday  10/2/2008 at Brian & Yvonne’s home at Woodbine. 9 people attended and had a wonderful time looking at Brian’s paintings and learning about his technique.

     The Art group previously recommended Chadwick’s Fine Arts, shop 2, 72-80 Argyle in Picton, however, Allan, the owner , has decided to change his line of business and does not carry Art Supplies anymore. He now specialize almost entirely in Framing, his prices for framing are very competitive.

To ensure that we still have a regular supply of art materials Francoise organises regular trips to the Art Scene in Ryde. It is a well known and respected Art shop with a wide range of products available.

We currently (March 2010) have 10 members regularly attending the painting group, anybody wanting to join should contact Francoise and she will advise how to proceed from there.

Francoise Kirkland started the new group in June 2009. The painting group meets on Thursdays from 10am until 2pm. People may choose to start and leave at anytime during these hours.

Thursdays are our painting days but we also organise regular Workshops with professional artists and visit Art exhibitions. Our group is represented at the Probus Art Exhibition along with all the various creative people in our Club.

Our focus is mainly oil painting but we welcome any other medium.
